The second line of the XV of France presented himself to the press this Tuesday in Aix-en Provence. And the Toulouse man met the expectations of the third World Cup match, against Namibia on Thursday evening in Marseille.
“We want to respond to the impression left against Uruguay. We are keen to show a face that suits us. We want to provide a successful, clean service that corresponds to what we know how to do. (…) Against Uruguay, we sinned by lack of commitment. What will give us pleasure is the commitment, the aggressiveness that we were unable to let go of against Uruguay. If we can do that, things will fall into place and the landscape will become clearer.”
To this end, Thibaud Flament assures that he “does not necessarily” think about the offensive bonus, but wants to do things in order. “Above all, we want to deliver a successful performance, to come out with satisfaction and pleasure. If the bonus comes, it will go from there…”
That said, the player wanted to put into perspective the aftermath of the difficult match against Uruguay (27-12) last week in Lille. “We are all aware of what went wrong but there is no fire in the lake. We won the match. We have all digested it and we are all keen to put in a good performance on Thursday. We had a very good training session which gave us a little confidence.”
