WRC: Thierry Neuville keeps the lead in Croatia

The Belgian Thierry Neuville (Hyundai), leader of the world championship, is leading the Croatia rally, 4th round out of 13 of the season, after the second day on Saturday, ahead of his runner-up, the Briton Elfyn Evans (Toyota). Tied at tenth with Evans after the first day, Neuville widened the gap on Saturday and is now 4''9 seconds ahead of Evans, who won in Croatia last year, and 11'' 6 seconds on the Frenchman Sébastien Ogier.

Neuville, third in the world championship in 2021 and 2022 and currently six points ahead of Evans in the standings, won five of the day's eight special stages, including the last three. Eight-time French world champion Sébastien Ogier, engaged in a partial program with Toyota and who won in Croatia in 2021, is still in third place, with more than a minute ahead of Estonian Ott Tanak. Only four stages are on the program on Sunday for the final day.
