OL: “I was a little embarrassed and very moved”, Aulas looks back on his great reconciliation with Textor

They're not the best friends in the world yet, but it's just like that. After maintaining a conflict for weeks, the former president of OL and John Textor, the new owner of the club, buried the hatchet by appearing publicly together at Groupama Stadium on December 11, at the occasion of the arrival of Toulouse. A recent reconciliation to which Aulas returned by speaking in front of the Canal cameras.

“We decided to talk. From that point on, John said to me, “You need to come back to the stadium.” As I didn't have room, I asked him how we did it. And he told me: “You come behind me, close to me. We will go see the players together before this match.”, explained “JMA”, touched by the American’s desire to smooth things over.

In front of his former players, Aulas was visibly moved: “They must have been surprised. I was too. I went into the locker room with John. I was a little embarrassed. Very touched. My legs were made of cotton. I wasn’t prepared and what’s more it was very emotional,” added the former boss of Les Gones, who assures that this rapprochement was not just a publicity stunt. “I believe that it was not an act of communication but a positive act of reconciliation which allowed everyone to find their bases.”
