Ligue 1: Bodmer sporting director of Le Havre until 2027

The Le Havre club announced on Wednesday the extension of the contract of its sports director, Mathieu Bodmer, the great architect of the return to the elite, last summer, until 2027, despite his current difficulties in the championship.

“The message sent is very strong! While the HAC, in Ligue 1, remains on a bad run, the Le Havre sports director, Mathieu Bodmer, has just extended his contract!”, underlines the Norman club in its press release.

Arriving in 2022, the former player of Lille, Lyon or Paris SG had completely renewed the squad and brought in coach Luka Elsner, whom he had worked with at his last club as a player, Amiens.

After a return to Ligue 1, which the oldest club left in 2009, Bodmer rejected, this summer, an approach from Lyon, the club with which he was French champion in 2008.

The Norman club then started the season well, reaching 7th place after six days and still in 8th after eleven L1 matches.

But he has since suffered nine defeats in sixteen league matches, for three wins and four draws, and he is now on the edge of the red zone, 15th, one point ahead of the virtual play-off, Lorient, before moving to Lens , Saturday for the 28th day.
