Mattéo Guendouzi, the return. Not selected by Didier Deschamps since the World Cup in Qatar at the end of 2022, the former Marseillais is making his comeback to the French team. He takes advantage of Antoine Griezmann's package to join the group for matches against Germany (March 23 in Lyon) and Chile (March 26 in Marseille). Guendouzi has seven caps (1 goal) for the French team, having played in the “hairdressers’ match” in Qatar. His fine performances under the colors of Lazio Rome, where he signed last summer, attracted Didier Deschamps and the French staff for this internship.
Having passed through the PSG training center, then Lorient, Arsenal and Hertha Berlin, Mattéo Guendouzi played 103 matches for Marseille (10 goals) before joining the club in the Italian capital last summer. He must reach Clairefontaine on Tuesday for lunch.
