The World Cup as a media displeasure

After a week of the soccer World Cup, we draw a first interim balance. How are the ratings developing on television, what was the anger with the DFB advertising partner Rewe about and how do you communicate as a national football team in a politically tense situation?

We also take a look at the RBB again - it deals with topics such as "pension" and "housing subsidy". It sounds bureaucratic, but it is actually explosive. The interim director Katrin Vernau has meanwhile made a "cash crash" at the RBB and now wants to save.

Finally, we deal with the future of journalism funding by the tech group Meta. Due to the mass layoffs, high-ranking employees who have taken care of the partnerships with news media are also leaving the company. What that means, we say in this issue.

The "Media Week" is a podcast about the world of media and its makers. Christian Meier, editor at WELT, and Stefan Winterbauer, editor-in-chief of the industry service Meedia, talk about the most important topics of the week every Friday. Background, analytical, entertaining.
