In response to the news, a general meeting was held this afternoon at the initiative of the Society of Journalists (SDJ). To express their opposition to this probable recruitment, the editorial staff of the JDD voted 93% (77 for, 1 no, 5 no answers) for a renewable strike starting this Thursday at 5:30 p.m. “We strongly oppose this appointment,” insists the SDJ in a press release. “Geoffroy Lejeune, former editorial director of the far-right weekly Valeurs Actuelles, expresses ideas that run counter to the values ​​that the JDD has carried for seventy-five years,” she adds.

The newspaper could not therefore appear on newsstands this Sunday, June 25.

Geoffroy Lejeune, 34, is supposed to replace Jérôme Béglé.
