“Public Transport Paris 2024”, the application for Olympic Games spectators, is available

Île-de-France Mobilités (IDFM) launched on Tuesday the public transport application intended to direct and distribute spectators of the Paris Olympic and Paralympic Games in order to optimize line congestion. This application - “Paris 2024 public transport” - should guide spectators and visitors during the Olympic Games, to the Olympic sites and in their travels in the Paris region, by recommending routes that are not necessarily the shortest, perhaps including more walking. on foot, but avoiding crowds in the lines and stations closest to the sites.

They can plan their trips as soon as they download, specifying which site they plan to go to and on what date. The user will receive a notification the day before the event to plan their journey and “on the big day, they will be notified in the event of any disruptions to their journey, in order to adapt it accordingly”, indicates IDFM in a press release. “Paris Public Transport 2024” will also have the mission of “best distributing spectators and public transport users according to the solutions serving the Olympic and Paralympic sites”.

Users will be offered “the most suitable route to get to the competition sites, a route which takes into account current disruptions and crowds in real time. It will therefore not necessarily be the shortest or fastest route that will be offered, but the one most suitable depending on the station or station of departure, with a balanced distribution between lines and sections, in order to avoid flows of travelers,” specifies IDFM. A “wheelchair traveler” functionality allows you to display only suitable journeys (and therefore avoid the metro in general).

By mid-June, the application should also allow you to purchase your transport tickets, in particular the Passe Paris 2024 package (16 euros per day) which gives access to all public transport in the Ile-de-France region. The application is translated into English, as well as Spanish, Italian, Portuguese and German by software.
