Controllers’ strike: Sud-Rail submits notice for the month of May

In the wake of the SNCF controllers' strike in mid-February, the Sud-Rail union announced that it had filed a strike notice covering the entire month of May to influence negotiations relating to the end of their careers. “The last strike of February 16/17/18 seems to be only the beginning in this balance of power which is taking hold a little more every day! The patience of the ASCT (controllers, editor's note) has its limits while their determination remains intact!”, launches the third union of the group in a leaflet published on its site.

The controllers' strike led to the cancellation of one in two TGVs during the winter holiday crossover weekend. The movement was very popular, with three out of four controllers on strike, particularly over issues of salary increases. A round table on the end of career is to take place on April 10, Sud-Rail said. “Management has been warned, without significant changes, the bridges in May will be disrupted,” says Sud-Rail.
