HD changes the dom in prison for Surahammarmord

the Supreme court judge a man in his mid-30s to 16 years in prison for the murder of a woman in Surahammar in August 2017, according to Sveriges radio Västmanland. HD is thus opposed to earlier instances, where the man was sentenced to forensic psychiatric care.

on 1 August last year that a woman of 55 years of age were killed with multiple stab wounds at a recycling facility in Surahammar. First arrested as a contemporary of the man, but then turned out to a man in his 30s to have done the deed.

the Man said in the district court largely does not remember the event. Both the county and the court of appeal went on their evaluation, that the offender suffered from a serious mental disorder and he was sentenced to forensic psychiatric care with special utskrivningsprövning.

the Judgment was appealed against by the acting prosecutor general Kerstin Skarp, and a new assessment of the man's mental condition was made. The came to the conclusion that the man did not commit the offence under the influence of a serious mental disorder.
