Lang Lang, the most French of Chinese pianists

The famous Chinese pianist, after buying an apartment in Paris, devotes an album to one of the most prolix French composers, Camille Saint-Saëns. It takes over the Carnival of the Animals, a little gem which helps younger generations discover classical music. We know all the attention that this star pianist devotes to the children whose company he enjoys and that in China, he has developed techniques and methods for teaching the piano to the youngest.

The second work by Saint-Saëns that he tackles is none other than the piano concerto number 2 which is a peak of romanticism. A work which, when we hear it, inexorably inscribes itself in the memory. To complete this double album published by Deutsche Grammophon, he added famous pieces by Fauré, Ravel, Debussy and Delibes, as well as rarer works by five French composers including Germaine Tailleferre and her famous piece Valse Lente. He received us in the Steinway salons, boulevard Saint Germain in Paris with his wife Gina Alice Redlinger. They are both at the piano.

Concerts on May 25 in Bordeaux, June 5 in Strasbourg, June 9 in Lyon, June 12 and 14 at the Philharmonie de Paris
