New tragedy in the Carter family, the eldest Bobbie Jean, died at 41

American Bobbie Jean Carter died on the morning of December 23 in Florida (United States), at the age of 41, reports the American site TMZ. The causes of death of the 41-year-old woman, sister of two singers known in the United States, have not yet been revealed.

“I am in shock after learning of the sudden death of my daughter, Bobbie Jean, and need time to process the terrible reality of this happening for the third time. When I am able to think clearly, I will make a more complete statement; but until then, I ask that I be allowed to grieve in private,” Bobbie Jean’s mother told the newspaper.

Bobbie Jean was the sister of Nick Carter, an American singer famous in the 1990s as a member of the Backstreet Boys, a boy band responsible for several hits: "Everybody" and "I Want It That Way." The Carter family is already bereaved by two deaths: that of Leslie, their sister, in 2012 at the age of 35, who died of an overdose, and that of Aaron last year. The latter, also a singer, was found dead at his home in California in November 2022. In the 1990s, Aaron Carter had become a star: his first album, “Aaron Carter”, released in 1997, became a record of gold in Norway, Spain, Denmark, Canada and Germany.

Bobbie Jean Carter, nicknamed BJ, appeared alongside her siblings in eight episodes of the show House of Carters. She had suffered from addiction and drug addiction for several years, and had also had several legal disputes with the American justice system.

Bobbie Jean's mother also had a few words for her granddaughter, who Bobbie Jean was raising alone. “I therefore ask compassionate people to pray for my precious eight-year-old granddaughter Bella, who has already lost her father and is now without her mother,” she lamented.
