Marc Márquez, the pilot with the best image inside and outside the World Cup

March 23, 2023.- Personality Media, after updating its Image Study of public personalities that it has carried out since 2005, with more than 80,000 annual interviews with consumers, now reaches more than 2,800 analyzed personalities from different categories and gives us a One more year, a few touches of his already traditional report on the main stars of Moto GP.

There is a great difference in the knowledge of the pilots between the total population and those spectators who affirm interest and follow-up for motorcycling, since in most cases, the data is doubled. Today only 27% of the population shows interest in motorcycling and without a doubt over time, indoor competition is preventing the introduction of new stars, who will replace Marc Márquez.

Marc Márquez is known by 91% of the total population, not only is he the third best-known active athlete at the national level, behind Nadal (98%) and Alonso (92%), but he also remains year after year among the 10 most well-known characters and best valued by the consumer.

With an average of 7.5 in general valuation, he is the 2nd active athlete with the best data, only behind Rafa Nadal (8.1).

With an impeccable image of 7.2 in confidence, in professional (8.2), leader (7.7) and a 7.1 in trend setting, always well above the rest of the best-known colleagues on the grid of this new season. This good evaluation that the pilot receives improves notably among those who consider themselves followers of the category.

Marc Márquez has had the opportunity to show the huge audiences that open competition has faced, both his triumphs and his family relationship, where he has always tried to involve his brother, as a fundamental component in his career. So Alex Márquez has carried over many of his brother's strengths.

So much so, that the youngest of the Márquez has achieved a knowledge of 72% and a general assessment of 6.8. Regarding the variables, it remains at that average, obtaining a score of 6.7 in confidence, 6.3 in trend setting, 6.9 in leader and, finally, 7.7 in professional, which places it with a high potential compared to his teammates on the grid.

This is about brothers and it is that the pilots with the highest knowledge behind the Márquez are the Espargaró brothers.

The 2022 season was decisive for the older brother, Aleix, who achieved his first victory in Moto GP at the Argentine Grand Prix and also achieved fourth pole position in the final classification, even so, his knowledge for the entire population is still below 50%, compared to 78% of motorcycling fans who know him. His image is a few steps below that of the Márquez, but with a 7.2 in professional, a variable closely linked to successful athletes.

Pol Espargaró, is another of the super talents of the "Catalan factory of motorcycling world champions", only two years younger than his brother, he obtains a better image, although with a similar knowledge of 48% but this data improves to a 77% among those consumers in the world of motorcycling. As for variables, he stands out as a professional with a 7.4 and as a leader with a 6.4.

Behind Pol Espargaró with 77% knowledge among Spanish motorcycling consumers, Maverick Viñales appears with 77%, followed by Alex Rins, obtaining a 6th position with 58%, and Fabio Quartaro with 61%, below the 50% we only find the 2020 Moto GP world champion, Joan Mir.

Since 2014, the interest and consumption of certain sports has been consulted. Motorcycling falls 40% from that moment until the end of 2022. The low interest of the ages of those under 30 years of age is very worrying, where only 25% show interest in the category and the 31-45 age group where the data is 23%, it is also the age group where it has fallen the most since 2014 with 48%.

Any motor competition is interesting, even more so in the one that so many Spanish athletes face in a category as disputed as Moto GP. But the culture of sport and its leaders is generated by the opportunity to enjoy the competition in an open way for all audiences. These high audiences of the past made riders like Dani Pedrosa, Jorge Lorenzo, even Crivillé, Aspar and Sito Pons, reach very high levels of notoriety, being benchmarks inside and outside of Motorcycling. Today we meet pilots who have been competing in the World Cup for years, including Joan Mir who has been World Champion, who are not known. The category is facing the question of who will be its next leader and who to rely on in the media to continue calling on the audience and sponsors that are so necessary.
