Thanks to provincial investments, the Almeria Provincial Council continues its efforts to promote Almanzora's sports infrastructure. Angel Escobar, the deputy for development, has made this clear. He has stated that the Institution has placed out to tender the remodeling work at the Olula del Rio Sports Complex, and is currently completing the Oria Pavilion as well as the roofs on the tracks of Albox's two public schools.
Escobar highlighted the fact that the 2020-23 Provincial Plans include investments to promote equal opportunities in sport matters in the province. These investments will see the construction and improvement of 16 municipal facilities across all regions. He explained that the amount of money needed to make sure municipalities have access to the same services and infrastructure as big cities is more than six millions.
The Olula del Rio Project is ambitious in this regard. It will make improvements to the Jose Juan Rodriguez Municipal Sports Complex, including functional adaptations of the pool, a new children's pool, and the remodeling of the municipal sport center. The City Council and Provincial Council will co-finance this action with a budget of 200,000 Euros.
The swimming pool will have a ramp and an accessible staircase. Also, the entire pool lining and beach area lining will be replaced. The project also includes the construction of an accessible splash pool.
The Sports Pavilion will have better accessibility and new coatings. This will take place in the area of pavilion's grandstand, which is located within the Sports Complex.
Escobar highlighted the fact that three important actions have been planned in the area for the municipalities Albox and Oria. The Orialeno City Council will be able face the completion its Sports Pavilion with an Investment of 315,000 Euros. Additionally, the Velazquez Virgen del Saliente Schools in Albojenese can benefit from the construction roofs for their sport courts.
The vice-president, Diputacion, stated that the Institution, as a council of councils in sports matters, attends to the requirements of the consistories in the province. 16 municipalities have chosen works within the Provincial Plans in sports related matters. Collaboration between institutions is crucial to the maintenance, improvement, and construction of new public places for the recreation of sports in the whole society as well as the promotion of grassroots sports and school sports>>.
Escobar stated that this is how we ensure that all Almeria's towns, particularly those with smaller resources, have the quality facilities they need to offer leisure, sports and other activities that benefit health and well-being.
