A sonorous thank you: To mark its 150th anniversary, Pianohaus Trübger in Hamburg's Schanzenviertel is giving away 15 pianos. “150 years is a very long time for a family business like ours. This success would not have been possible without our loyal customers,” said Yvonne Trügber, who is the fourth generation to run the piano house. “So we would like to give back some of the great happiness that we feel. We would like to share our joy with the people of Hamburg who, like us, love music and playing the piano, but cannot afford to own an instrument.”
For every decade of the company's history, the piano house is giving away an instrument - a total of 15 pianos with a total value of 115,000 euros. Piano players can apply for one of the instruments with their personal story until September 19th. "The criteria are deliberately formulated openly, because the focus should not be on the idea of competition, but on the love of music and the fulfillment of a big, long-cherished dream for 15 people," said Trübger. What is needed are creativity, authenticity – and of course a bit of luck. A jury of experts decides who gets one of the valuable instruments at the end.
Friedrich Reinhold Trübger founded the traditional family business in 1872. After his death in 1894, Doris Trübger took over the management of the company, from 1906 with the support of her youngest son Friedrich Reinhold Trübger II. He purposefully expanded the business: they moved to larger premises, but remained loyal to the Schanzenviertel - known at the time for its piano builders. After the Second World War, Friedrich Reinhold Trübger III took over the representation of leading piano brands and built up a successful export business. To date, Pianohaus Trübger has sold more than 65,000 instruments all over the world.
