XV of France: Galthié “is no longer the man for the job” according to Boudjellal

With his three more than average matches at the Six Nations, Fabien Galthié is called into question at the head of the French XV, and this Saturday Mourad Boudjellal did not mince his words when he mentioned the situation of the French coach, in the show Les Grandes Gueules on RMC Sport.

“Has he ever been the man for the job? He has a generation of exceptional players in exceptional conditions. No French coach has had the same generation with the same conditions. We said at the time that everything was magnificent and that we were going to be world champions.”

He also added a word on the absences of Dupont, Ntamack and Alldritt: “We realize today that he is becoming an ordinary coach again since he no longer has the best players in the world. (...) He is not capable of performing miracles. He has good players, but as soon as he no longer has great players, the results suffer.”

Before concluding: “Galthié is no longer the man for the job. We can keep him as a technician but especially not as a manager. You have to surround him. I had it for a year and I know how it works.” As a reminder, Boudjellal knew him in Toulon when he was president, and Galthié coached him in 2017-2018.
