Top 14: Toulouse, for the big return of Ntamack, was (very) scared against Pau

Stade Toulousain won, at the last minute, this Saturday evening against Pau (31-29) at Ernest-Wallon, on behalf of the 20th day of the Top 14. The Béarnais, very enterprising, made the champions of France until the last second. Despite four tries scored - including two at the start of each half - by Gailleton (2nd), Attissogbe (35th, 42nd) and Roudil (66th), the Palois left Haute-Garonne with their hands in their pockets.

The Rouge et Noir, authors of five tries in this meeting through Chocobares (11th), Mauvaka (17th), Willis (22nd), Meafou (51st) and finally Lebel (78th), had to wait until the last moments to crack the Section. The Haut-Garonnais were scared because of numerous wanderings and defensive blunders, notably on Roudil's try in the 66th minute, but avoided a third consecutive defeat in the Top 14 and saw their playing master Romain Ntamack be (finally) back.

The opener entered the field at the hour mark, replacing his international teammate Antoine Dupont, before shining a few minutes later with a beautiful solo number. The one who was injured for eight months seems to have lost none of his splendor. The other good news of the evening for the Stadium. Thanks to this victory, Ugo Mola's men return to three points behind leader Stade Français but will have to do much more next Sunday against Racing 92 in the round of 16 of the Champions Cup. For their part, the Béarnais remain stuck in eighth place in the championship and may harbor enormous regrets.
