AC Milan's Portuguese international Rafael Leao, who was released at the start of Saturday's match in the Italian Championship, is injured in his right thigh, his club announced on Sunday.
“For Leao, it is a level 1 lesion of the biceps femoris of the right thigh,” indicated AC Milan, which did not specify the duration of his unavailability.
According to the Italian press, his absence could be between two and three weeks.
On Saturday, Leao left his teammates after only eight minutes of play during the match of the 12th day in Lecce which ended in a draw (2-2).
The 24-year-old winger has scored four goals this season, including one in the Champions League on Tuesday against PSG who were beaten 2-1 at San Siro.
Leao will remain at Milan during the international break and could therefore miss at least his club's next two matches, in the league against Fiorentina on November 25 and in the Champions League against Dortmund three days later.
AC Milan also announced that its captain Davide Calabria suffered a minor calf injury, which could, however, deprive him of his selection for the Italian team for the Euro-2024 qualifying matches against Madecoine. North and Ukraine on November 17 and 20.
Before Sunday's matches, AC Milan is 3rd in the Italian Championship, six points behind leader Juventus Turin.
