Sailing: Louis Vuitton becomes title partner of the 2024 America’s Cup

Louis Vuitton returns to the America's Cup. The French luxury leather goods manufacturer announced that it was once again becoming title partner of the 37th edition of the event which will start in Barcelona on October 12, 2024. Before that, from August 29 to October 7, qualifiers bearing its name, the “Louis Vuitton Cup", will take place and will pit five challengers from defender Team New Zealand: Ineos Britannia (Germany), Alinghi Red Bull Racing (Switzerland), Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli (Italy), American Magic (United States) and Orient Express Racing Team, the French challenge led by Franck Cammas.

“It is an immense pride to return to this historic competition as title partner. Barcelona's Port Vell will be the setting for a show of elegance and power where crews will compete in audacity, talent and mastery on increasingly innovative boats. So many values ​​reflecting the spirit of Louis Vuitton and its artisans,” said Pietro Beccari, Chairman and CEO of Louis Vuitton.

Louis Vuitton, born in 1854 and partner of the oldest race in the world (created in 1851) between 1983 and 2017 (except in 2010), will create, in his name, the trophy and the trunk of the event as well as the one which will house the famous silver ewer, reserved for the winner of the America's Cup since the creation of the competition.

Note that following the men's event, the women's America's Cup will take place with the establishment of a parallel circuit.
