Premier League: Chelsea come back from afar and snatch a draw against Villa

Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher managed to snatch a 2-2 draw against Aston Villa on Saturday. The Blues made an impressive comeback after being down by two goals. A result which does not suit Aston Villa for the fight in the Champions League. The Villans are fourth with 67 points, seven more than Tottenham Hotspur, who play Sunday's north London derby against Arsenal, one of three matches behind Villa. Chelsea are ninth with 48 points. Beaten 5-0 by Arsenal in midweek, Chelsea got off to the worst possible start when Villa midfielder John McGinn saw his shot pushed back into his own net by Marc Cucurella at the fourth minute. They led 2-0 at the break after Morgan Rogers added their second goal just before the break, his third in three home matches for Villa.

However, the match turned upside down when Villa were forced to replace goalkeeper Emi Martinez with Robin Olsen due to a hamstring injury, and the Swede was unable to do anything to prevent Noni Madueke from scoring a goal to the 63rd minute. When Gallagher was offered shooting space at the edge of the area, he was quick to equalize with a superb curling shot in the 81st minute, which deceived Olsen and put his team back on level terms. Chelsea almost achieved an incredible comeback by snatching a victory at the end of the match. Substitute Axel Disasi headed in what appeared to be the winning goal in stoppage time for the visitors, but Benoît Badiashile was found guilty of a foul in the build-up and the goal was ruled out.
