As American football becomes more and more popular, NFL (National Football League) boss Roger Goodel announced the holding of a match in Brazil during the 2024 season. This is the very first match in history which will be played on the South American continent. The meeting will take place in São Paulo in the Corinthians Arena (49,205 seats), built for the 2014 World Cup. “Bringing the NFL to new continents, new countries and new cities is a major element of our plan to continue to develop this sport internationally.” Roger Goodel said.
This is not the only match that will be played outside the United States. Like this year, matches will take place in England and Germany. Three matches will take place in London, two at Totthenam Stadium and one at Wembley. Before returning to Germany for the third consecutive year, this time to Munich at the Allianz Arena. All this desire to democratize this sport internationally is necessarily linked to the addition of Flag Football for the Los Angeles Olympics in 2028. Some NFL stars have already expressed their wish to participate in this competition.
