Xavi will hand over at the end of the season. After his team's new rout this Saturday against Villarreal (5-3), the Catalan coach indicated that he would leave the club at the end of the season. However, he had extended his contract until 2025. “On June 30, I will leave the club, it is a decision that I took with the president, with the staff”. The former Barça midfielder is also the coach who conceded the most defeats during his mandate: 26.
To replace it, names are starting to circulate. Without certainty yet. The first is called Thiago Motta. The former PSG midfielder is having a good season with Bologna. The Italian club is fighting for European qualification in Serie A. Motta had, however, had a difficult start in his new role with Genoa and La Spezia. We cannot say no to such an opportunity.” The daily Sport reports that Barcelona is keeping an eye on Giovanni van Bronckhorst (former coach of Feyenoord and Rangers) as well as on Michel, coach of a Girona team which is surprising and seducing this season in La Liga.
