Belgian international Thomas Meunier has joined Trabzonspor from Borussia Dortmund, the club playing in the Turkish first division announced on Wednesday.
“An agreement has been reached for the transfer of professional footballer Thomas André Meunier, in free status, to our club,” the latter announced on its website, without specifying the duration of the contract.
Aged 33, the Belgian right-back played for FC Bruges (2011-2016) and Paris Saint Germain (2016-2020) where he played for four years as an understudy for Serge Aurier, who signed with Galatasaray in early February. In June 2020, he joined Borussia Dortmund on a four-year contract.
Based in Trabzon, located on the Black Sea, Trabzonspor is in fourth place in the Turkish Super Lig standings. The club won the championship in 2022 after 38 years of waiting.
