Bundesliga: Dortmund wins in Bremen and trails Stuttgart

Reduced to ten men for the second half, Borussia Dortmund won 2-1 on Saturday at Werder Bremen and keeps pace with Stuttgart and Leipzig in the fight for third and fourth place in the German championship.

Thanks to its victory, Borussia Dortmund maintains its fourth place in the Bundesliga with 47 points, six less than Stuttgart (third with 53 points) and one more than Leipzig (fifth with 46 points).

Edin Terzic's men are full of confidence before facing PSV Eindhoven in their Westfalenstadion in the round of 16 of the Champions League on Wednesday (9:00 p.m.), after a draw (1-1) in the Netherlands.

Dutchman Donyell Malen opened the scoring with an acrobatic volley in the 21st minute, taking advantage of a Julian Brandt shot that was poorly returned by the Werder goalkeeper. Jadon Sancho doubled the lead in the 38th minute, for his first goal since his return to Dortmund during the winter transfer window.

The BVB played ten to eleven outnumbered throughout the second half after the red card against Marcel Sabitzer in added time of the first half.
