While his season in Monaco was already not going as planned in terms of playing time, particularly in the Euroleague, French international Terry Tarpey is now stopped due to injury. Affected in the meniscus of his left knee, the 30-year-old French international winger (34 caps) will have surgery next Monday and miss six weeks of competition, as the Rocher club announced this Friday.

The main person explains himself on social networks, in this case a story on Instragram: “An MRI confirmed that I suffered a torn meniscus two weeks ago. However, I believed that I could play through the pain and put the team's goals and objectives before my own. But at our game last weekend, it was clear to me that I couldn't help the team to the best of my ability, and the pain and swelling were only getting worse. With my family and the Monaco staff, it was decided that the best thing was to have an operation in order to come back in time for the play-offs,” he slips, assuring that he will “find the positive in this situation and come back better.

If he is regularly responsible in the French championship, with 24 matches including 15 starts and averages of 4.7 points, 3.8 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.1 interceptions in 19.4 minutes per match, the he former Le Mans player has to be content with crumbs in the Euroleague: 7 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 interceptions... in total, in six appearances and one hour of play. Tarpey signed for ASM last summer for three seasons.

To see if this injury can also have repercussions on the French team, less than four months before the Olympic Games. The list is due to be revealed in mid-May.
