Master TAD, on a mission to the future News

Here are satisfied, those who wanted to throw a glance on the most significant projects developed by the students of Master TAD in the last few years, starting with those developed for the X Edition of the course completed in 2019, the last in the framework of an agreement with Volkswagen. Today the Master TAD – Master in Transportation & Automobile design at the Politecnico di Milano – has not a more a only automotive partner of reference, but different collaborations, in order to expand the scope of job opportunities for students .

These last have given life to four projects imagining situations limit. A future in which land and water will be practicable without discontinuity (the Anurans), and where the urban space will be more and more limited and precious (Crisalis). The city where they could establish solutions in sharing that favour aggregation (fleet because we consider this), or in which the acts of men and means, can become the solution to more effective life (Kimera). We want to see them? But ...

Anurans
The likely sea level rise caused by global warming, redraws the urban fabric of coastal cities. Anurans it is an amphibious vehicle designed to provide, in this near future, a service of premium sharing in the cities where the mingling of water and earth will become a distinguishing feature of the new urban fabric.

Crisalis
In the future, the need to optimise the use of urban spaces will be more and more urgent, in virtue of the growing number of cars in circulation in this sense, the services and sharing will represent a kind of social need. For many users, however, desire a private space, exclusive and not shared, will continue to represent an indispensable component of their mobility.

fleet because we consider this
In the future, the movement in the town centre will be permitted only on public transport or services of sharing. The drastic reduction of private vehicles will free up the space now used as a car park and allows the creation of dedicated lanes for specific services. Volkswagen fleet because we consider this is a product-service modular designed for this context.

Chimera
2040: smart cities will be a widespread reality and all aspects of life are governed by artificial intelligences. Kimera was created for those who want to enjoy a getaway in nature, free from the control of the machines.

The Master in Transportation and Automobile Design form designers can develop their creativity through the entire process typical of the style centres: from the definition of external forms, to the development of the interior; the study and selection of materials and colors; the physical modeling with the clay, and digital. The training programme, directed by Prof. Fausto Short, is limited to a maximum of 20 students: it is addressed to holders of undergraduate degrees belonging to the disciplines of the project (engineering, architecture, industrial design).
On average, within 18 months from the end of the Master, 80% of students find employment in their field of expertise.
The entries to the next edition, with the beginning secured, the march 25, 2020, are still open to assign the last available seats.
