Tom Cruise returns to Paris for the filming of Mission Impossible 8

Tom Cruise was seen on a motorbike on Thursday evening, a stone's throw from the Arc de Triomphe. The 61-year-old actor did not come to Paris for a Parisian trip but to shoot a few scenes from the next Mission Impossible, scheduled for May 2025. As a reminder, the presence of the Olympic Games this summer forced the city to limit, see filming in the capital suspended from mid-June to mid-September.

Unsurprisingly, the presence of Tom Cruise on Avenue Carnot, located in the 18th arrondissement, made the rounds on social networks. The images, relayed by an Internet user then by the media, show the actor racing down a street at full speed, without a helmet and preceded by a film truck, a stone's throw from the Arc de Triomphe and the Champs Élysées.

The Hollywood risk-taker was also seen under the Bir Hakeim bridge, located between the 15th and 16th arrondissements. “Tom Cruise has just filmed a scene on the Jean-Paul Belmondo promenade,” exclaimed journalist and writer Philippe Lombard on social networks. It smells like a homage to “Fear in the City” right on the nose.”

This is not the first time that the Hollywood star has made a detour to Paris for a shoot. In 2018, he already came accompanied by his motorcycle to produce certain scenes for the sixth part of the franchise, entitled Fallout. In total, the filming in the capital lasted 36 days, becoming “the biggest filming ever carried out in Paris”, confided to the Parisian Michel Gomez, delegate of the Cinema mission to the City of Paris. The stunt scenes were carried out all over the city, from the Grand Palais to the Eiffel Tower, including the Trocadéro esplanade and the Opéra Garnier.

In May 2025, Tom Cruise will return in the role of the famous Ethan Hunt for an eighth spy mission. This next film, whose title is not known, should provide additional information on the previous episode, entitled Dead Reckoning, released in 2023. Among the actors already present in Mission Impossible 7, we will find: Canadian Henry Czerny, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg and Hayley Atwell.
