New ecological bonus: the list of eligible electric cars revealed, here are the vehicles concerned

The device is launched. While Emmanuel Macron gave the go this Thursday to the electric car leasing system “at 100 euros per month” for the most modest, he also revealed the list of vehicles which will be eligible, from Friday, for the remodeled “electric bonus” . On the basis of environmental criteria, it will de facto favor almost exclusively electric models produced in France or in Europe.

In total, no less than 22 brands of electric cars are part of the list unveiled by the executive (see below), which includes major French manufacturers such as Citroën, Peugeot and Renault but also other European brands such as such as BMW, Fiat, Mercedes, Smart, Volkswagen and even Volvo. Up to 78 different models are available. Among them, the Q4 45 E-Tron from Audi as well as the BMW iX1, BMW iX2 and even the E-C4 from Citroën. Please note that not all type-variant-version (TVV) - this code which identifies the specific finish of the models listed below - will necessarily be eligible.

Furthermore, some of these models are also part of the list of electric cars available as part of the implementation of the leasing system at 100 euros per month. From this Friday, on the platform dedicated to this new device, everyone will be able to see if they are eligible and identify some available models such as the Peugeot e-208, the Renault Twingo e-Tech, the Citroën ë-C4 or even the Opel Mokka Electric.

On October 24, the Minister of Economy and Finance Bruno Le Maire had already made it known on the occasion of Automotive Industry Day that the “role of the State” was “to be alongside” the French, both “for demand and for supply” of this key sector. “Regarding demand, I confirm that the State will increase its investments in electricity bonuses, the conversion bonus and leasing,” he assured, explaining that this aid would represent a total of 1.5 billion euros per year from 2024 compared to 1.3 billion euros last year.

“These bonuses, on which we will provide details with Agnès Pannier-Runacher in the coming weeks, will now be reserved only for vehicles which have a low carbon footprint,” he continued, stressing that “it was time for a European nation specifies this. “The French taxpayer is not intended to finance electric vehicles which have carbon emissions in their production which are not satisfactory,” he concluded.
