The municipalities of Île-de-France approved Thursday by an overwhelming majority the choice of the Veolia group to manage the water contract in Ile-de-France for twelve additional years (2025-2036), despite the attempt by its rival Ready to challenge its hegemony. The tender procedure for this four billion euro market has experienced its share of legal twists and turns, which are still ongoing: Suez is contesting the decision of the Ile-de-France water union (Sedif) to take over the procedure after a computer bug, a dispute which the Council of State will examine on Monday after the rejection of a first appeal. The signing of the contract is suspended by the decision of the Council of State.
