Goncourt 2023: who from Jean-Baptiste Andrea, Neige Sinno, Éric Reinhardt or Gaspard Koenig will win it?

This time, it is in Krakow, Poland, that the Goncourt Prize jury, gathered under the leadership of Didier Decoin, announced its latest list of potential winners. There are only four authors left to claim the prestigious award: Jean-Baptiste Andrea with Veiller sur elle (L'Iconoclaste), Gaspard Koenig, with Humus (L'Observatoire), Éric Reinhardt with Sarah, Susanne et l'auteur (L'Observatoire), Gallimard) and Neige Sinno, with Sad Tiger (P.O.L). According to the rules of the Prix Goncourt, the winner is necessarily among these four.

Last year, Brigitte Giraud won the 2022 Goncourt prize for her novel Vivre vite, published by Flammarion. Verdict on Tuesday, November 7, just before 1 p.m., followed by the announcement of the Renaudot Prize. From the previous selection came Laure Murat and her Proust, family novel (Robert Laffont), Antoine Sénanque, Croix de cendre (Grasset), Jean-Philippe Toussaint, L'Échiquier (Minuit) as well as Dominique Barbéris, A way of loving (Gallimard).

Antoine Sénanque and Dominique Barbéris are still in the running for the Grand Prix du roman of the Académie française which will be awarded on Thursday October 26. The novelist is also on the latest Medici list.

Clearly for Jean-Baptiste Andrea and Neige Sinno, it’s working well. These two authors are also in the final of the Prix Femina. Neige Sinno can also claim the Medici just like Éric Reinhardt. The ladies of Femina will shoot before Goncourt, on Monday November 6. So to be continued.

The Goncourt Prize jury is made up of Didier Decoin, president, Pascal Bruckner, Éric-Emmanuel Schmitt, Paule Constant, Christine Angot, Tahar Ben Jelloun, Camille Laurens, Françoise Chandernagor, Philippe Claudel and Pierre Assouline.
