Angèle and J Balvin propel Solidays to a new attendance record

The charity festival launched 25 years ago by Solidarité Sida continues to shine year after year. According to the organizers, no less than 259,735 festival-goers - 12,000 more than the already historic edition of last year - thus made the trip for the 25th edition of the event, organized this year from June 23 to 25 at the Longchamp Racecourse.

A success that we owe in part to the more than diversified line-up of the festival, which again this year attracted both international stars and emerging talents. From the Latin rhythms of the Colombian singer J Balvin to the soft and bewitching voice of Angèle, passing through the sounds of the Toulouse rappers Bigflo and Oli and the unprecedented musical performance in the open air festival of the pianist Sofiane Pamart. Festival-goers were also able to discover new faces such as the Palestinian rapper Saint Levant or the alternative techno artist Roland Cristal. In short, there really was something for everyone.

Other celebrities were present at the festival, not to put on a show but to lend a hand to the 3,000 volunteers. Among them, Antoine de Caunes, Éric Toledano, Roschdy Zem or even Denis Brogniart, already present last year, renewed the experience at the Solidays store.

With its Village Solidarité where nearly 80 associations were present, the festival had taken up the challenge of encouraging 25,000 new vocations for its 25th edition. A successful bet for Solidays, which welcomes this “surge of solidarity which authentically embodies the very identity of the festival.”

Created in 1999 to raise funds for the fight against HIV, Solidays has brought together nearly 52,000 festival-goers since its first edition, headlined by MC Solaar, Jean-Jacques Goldman and Robbie Williams. 25 years later, the solidarity festival has raised more than 100 million euros, trained 65,000 volunteers and funded 2,500 aid programs for vulnerable people around the world.
