Priest and Historian Jan Van Raemdonck zit with the hands in the hair. Friday morning his thieves on the get started with a painting of a whopping 100 kilograms. The work was on an easel display in the church, and had a lot of attention. ‘The Madonna El Silencio' as the work would be called shows Joseph and Mary, along with a sleeping jesus and John The Baptist in the background. “The work was 15 years long in the back in the church hidden, when I found out I placed it more to the front, and I got a tip from one of the Zeelse choir, that the work may be, however, what had value," says Van Raemdonck.
Pastor Of Raemdonck is himself a historian and is preparing a book about the painting. “It is a painting that looks like a drawing from the Portland collection of the Duke at Portland in England.
