The Noz clearance chain will sell thousands of Habitat brand items

Another great catch for Noz. After Made.com furniture, Camaïeu clothing and San Marina shoes, the clearance chain got its hands on the stocks of the furniture and decoration brand Habitat, liquidated on December 28. In the coming days, more than 130,000 items from the brand will be offered to customers in the 320 Noz stores in France. “The logistics teams are mobilized to organize the rapid recovery of stocks and thus ensure arrival in two stages,” explains the store chain in a press release.

The furniture items (sofas, bookcases, tables) will be delivered in the “next few days” to around a hundred stores in the chain. Decorative items will be available in all points of sale within the “coming weeks”. As usual, the destocker promises unbeatable prices: -60% on the store price for each reference.

Created in the 1960s with the aim of “democratizing design”, Habitat had changed owners several times in recent years, before being placed in receivership and then liquidated by the Bobigny commercial court at the end of December. The stock of the points of sale was sold at auction on April 17 and 21, allowing Noz to win items from around twenty former Habitat stores. This sale, indicates the clearance chain, made it possible to “repay part of the creditors” of the company.

The fact remains that if the news should delight Noz fans, it could be poorly received by former Habitat customers, who have still not received their order due to the liquidation of the brand. Among these unhappy customers whose setbacks Le Figaro had reported, many are still waiting for their compensation. This is the case of Emmanuel, who spent more than 2,500 euros on the purchase of a Habitat sofa in September. Six months later, he received no furniture, no reimbursement, no credit. “No news of anything, nor anyone, a shame. The sale at Noz is incredible, these are probably stocks that include my sofa, who knows. It’s ludicrous,” he fumes. A rant which is reminiscent of that of the ex-customers of Made.com, who, last year, had also expressed their dissatisfaction upon learning that the furniture they had ordered was going to be offered at a lower price. broken at Noz.

Former Habitat customers nevertheless have a reason to hope, since the brand will be relaunched by the site vente-unique.com. The latter is committed to “orchestrating the rebirth of the iconic brand”, with a new range of furniture, but also to compensating the 9,000 French customers “impacted by the liquidation of the previous operator of Habitat”. A form has been available for several days on the furniture brand's website to declare your debt. Vente-unique.com undertakes to “study each file and get back to customers within 3 to 5 weeks” and to offer, free of charge, “purchase vouchers that customers can use for the 'purchase of Habitat products marketed on the Habitat.fr website'. To be continued...
