"Number of cases near annual low" - The current corona numbers explained for you

33,226 Corona cases were reported to the RKI yesterday.

Compared to the previous week, there is a minus of nine percent.

This is the 28th consecutive business day of a week-on-week decline.

And: the 33,226 cases are the lowest value on a working day for a good 33 weeks. The only day in 2022 with fewer cases was January 3, when 30,561 cases were recorded.

The downward trend in the number of cases is still intact. The 7-day moving average of new cases is the lowest it has been since June 8.

The 7-day incidence continues to decline, from 264 to 260.

An incidence that is clearly increasing, contrary to the trend, is reported for Berlin - and this is now the third day in a row.

The capital is still the only federal state in which the incidence is above the level of the previous week.

101 corona deaths were reported to the RKI yesterday, 20 fewer than a week ago.

In total, we are at exactly 600 deceased in the current week.
