Nijar's Holy Week begins with the traditional procesional march concert

Officially inaugurating the Passion Week in the municipality was the traditional concert of processional marches performed by the Music Band of the Nijar Cultural Association. This activity was organized by the association, the Church of the Annunciation and the Brotherhood of Santa Maria.

This concert was held at La Villa's church. It featured the premiere of Francisco Jose Lozano Mesa's "Immortal" march, which was composed by him and is dedicated to his brother and the Association. All this under Jose Mateo Alcaraz, its director. Juan Alberto Nieto proclamated Holy Week's opening.

Yolanda Lozano (Councilor for Culture, provincial deputy) stated that the concert of processional marches was being re-introduced after two years. The event, which was suspended due to health reasons, is now exciting. However, the councilor for culture and provincial deputy Yolanda Lozano pointed out that the concert must be rescheduled as per the recommendations of the health authorities. This was not only for Nijar Cultural Association which strives to preserve the musical traditions in our community, but also for all of the neighbours.

A procession of religious acts and rituals began in the same weekend, which was also the start of various tours through the Nijareno municipality's geography.
