Kira Geiss from Stuttgart is the new "Miss Germany". The 20-year-old prevailed against nine other women on Saturday. She is involved in youth work and, in her own words, wants to make it big in Germany. "Democracy should aim to support young people," said Geiss, who is also active in the church. She founded a youth church in Magdeburg.
She receives 25,000 euros as prize money to realize a project of her choice. She would like to approach young people and see what ideas she can implement with them. She would then like to network these with communities and associations.
15,000 women applied this season, ten made it to the final. A jury made up of presenter Ruth Moschner, entertainer Nicolas Puschmann, TV host Bruce Darnell, model Monica Meier-Ivancan and the press officer of "Miss Germany", Jil Andert, chose the winner after several rounds of introductions in Europa-Park in Rust, southern Baden.
