Flamenco in Neighborhoods puts emphasis on local talent

Flamenco dancing and singing will be back in the city as part of the City Council’s cultural program for the summer season. Juan Francisco Cazalilla was the person responsible for the Culture area. He presented the new version of this program, which aims to bring culture into areas of the municipality that don't usually have it.

The concert series, which is co-produced by Radio Andujar and Pena Flamenca "Los Romros", will start next Thursday, July 7th at 9:30 pm at the Antonio Machado Library. Carmen Alvarez and Carmen Ruiz, Juanjo Leon, Luis Miguel Cruz, and Juanjo Leon are the performers. The bullring will be host to Mario Moraga, Rami Hernández, and Belen Vegas on Thursday, July 14.

Juan Moreno y Chano, Antonio Mena and Juaneke Gutierrez will star on the evening of July 21st at 9:30 p.m. Juaneke Gutierrez will perform a recital in Parque de Las Vistillas. Cazalilla emphasized the City Council's firm commitment to flamenco art promotion and offering a cultural program that "reaches all neighborhoods and districts of the city, without distinction", he said in his speech. He stressed that he is betting upon the artists of this land.
