First meeting to address the olive campaign in the community

I am always looking ahead. The mayor Marino Aguilera, along with Mercedes Linares, the mayor of Social Services in La Tejuela, hosted a meeting to discuss preparations for next year's olive harvest campaign.

"We want the City Council to be able to anticipate the usual device they have been setting up each year to start this campaign. This will allow us to deal with the unique challenges that 2020 presents due to the COVID-19 pandemic. As always, care was taken to ensure seasonal workers get the best care. This time it will be crucial to make sure that the campaign is under extraordinary security and preventive measures. Linares stated that health and prevention of contagion will be a priority.

As reported by the consistory in this first meeting, security protocols that will be implemented in immigrant care services as well as their organization were discussed. Each agent involved in this unusual collection campaign will have more meetings. These include Health Services, Security Forces and Bodies, Agrarian Unions, Caritas and Red Cross. The Local Immigration Commission will convene to coordinate this year's temporary-immigrant care device.
