Now a days most contact electronically, but nevertheless we have the danes still use the good old postal service.

It is also the case in other countries. Also in India, where some of the world's highest situated villages is in Spiti Valley in the Himalayan mountain range in northern India.

According to BBC can the inhabitants of the valley boasts to be the holders of the world's highest post office, which is located no less than 4400 meters above sea level.

The old post office in the village of Hikkim is the gathering point for a number of small villages in the mountain areas, which are largely isolated from the rest of the world.

the Villagers flock according to the BBC daily to the building to send letters or put the money into their savings accounts. In addition, the post office, a popular attraction for tourists, who would like to send a letter from the world's highest post office, writes the british media.

however, It is not exactly going easy to work on the old post office, which since 1983 has been moderated by the postmaster Rinchen Chhering.

He has two postmænd employed, as each day takes the 46-kilometer-long stroll through the arduous mountain terrain to deliver and collect mail in the town of Kaza, which is considered as the capital of the Spiti Valley, which has bus services. From Kaza the entry is sent with the bus forward, while the entry to the Hikkim is carried back to the foot.

Four out of the five cities in the Spiti Valley is a small populated, and the telephone line connection is certainly not something to boast of, while the internet connection was not available.

Thus consists of the village of Komic which is 4587 metres above sea level, of just 13 houses, a school for five pupils and an ancient monastery.

the Villagers in the Spiti Valley is because of the location basically isolated from the rest of the world population year-round, but when it snows - which it does more than six months of the year - will be the isolation even more extreme, as it becomes virtually impossible to move around in the area.
