the Airports at Gatwick and Heathrow are now investing several million pounds in advanced military equipment that can track and stop the drones, before they become a danger to air traffic.
This is according to several british media, after up to 1000 flights at Gatwick were cancelled or redirected 21. december in the middle of the very busy juletrafik.
the Authorities feared for several hours that someone tried to sabotage the traffic, but until today neither the perpetrators or the drones found.

in Order to prevent a repetition of the two airports procured military equipment similar to that which was put in under the drone-events 21. december.
the Equipment is able to track the drones in good time before they come into the airspace at the airports.
It can also destroy the signal between the drones and those who govern them. And in this way prevent that the drones do damage on passenger aircraft or other vehicles and people on the ground.
It is planned that other uk airports also need to buy the equipment.
