The underground udstillingsgalleri be supplemented with the work 'The Dome' by american artist James Turrell.

Aros is already known for the landmark 'Your Rainbow Panorama', which is a rainbow-coloured glass corridor on top of the museum with a lookout over the city.
The Danish-icelandic artist Olafur Eliasson is behind the iconic work.
James Turrel, who is the man behind the new project in Aarhus, known among other things from the 'Roden Crater'.
It is an observatory, which is built on top of a udslukt volcano in the Arizona desert.
The biggest contributor to the expansion of the aarhus museum of art is Salling Funds, which has donated 80 million dollars.
in Addition, the New Carlsberg foundation granted dkk 40 million.
Finally, there is given an anonymous donation of 10 million dollars. The rest is financed by Aros itself and the city of Aarhus.
