The American Mikaela Shiffrin dominated the first round of the Courchevel slalom on Thursday, run at night and counting for the Alpine Ski World Cup; as often, only the Slovakian Petra Vlhova seems able to tickle her in the second round.

Starting with bib 1, the American, five-time winner of the big crystal globe, achieved the best time in the first round of this slalom in the Savoyard resort. Vlhova is second at 17 hundredths.
