After a complicated first few days, Sébastien Loeb (BRX) finally obtained his first victory during this Dakar 2024. Although he started in 23rd position, the Frenchman was keen to set the record straight after his misadventures the day before.
At the end of a competitive event where he managed the end of the race better than his teammate Nasser Al-Attiyah, Loeb finally achieved his first success in this edition. He finished ahead of the Saudi Yazeed Al-Rajhi (Toyota) and the double defending champion, Al-Attiyah who fell to 3rd position. Despite this second step on the podium, the Saudi remains at the top of the general classification. The two Audis of Carlos Sainz and Stéphane Peterhansel complete the top 5.
In the general classification, Loeb is in 6th position, 23’50” behind the leader. The podium is completed by Sainz who is at 4'19'' and Al-Attiyah at 11'3''. Al-Rajhi is therefore breathing a little better before the 5th stage.
