New black series for Boeing: eleven injured after a plane went off the runway in Dakar

The black series never ends. A Boeing plane has once again been involved in an accident. On the night of Wednesday May 8 to Thursday May 9, a 737-300 model plane, with 78 passengers on board, violently left the runway during takeoff from Blaise Diagne international airport in Dakar, Senegal. In a press release, local authorities reported eleven injuries. Four of them are in serious condition.

In a video widely relayed on social networks, the cabin of the Boeing of the Senegalese airline TransAir appears largely damaged. Blaise Diagne airport management announced that an investigation had been opened to determine the causes of the accident. The airport was able to reopen to traffic after a few hours of closure.

On Wednesday May 8, a plane from the American manufacturer had to land in Istanbul without front landing gear after damage. On the same day, a Boeing 787-900 from the French company Air France was forced to divert to land in Iqaliuit, in the Canadian far north, after a burning smell was detected in the cabin.
