Once again in numerical superiority for more than an hour, Bayer Leverkusen continued its impressive flawless performance this season, dominating Sunday evening Wolfsburg (2-0) in its BayArena, taking another step towards a first title of champion.
Nine days before the end of the 2023/24 financial year, Bayer Leverkusen is ten points ahead of Bayern Munich, who are regaining some color after a catastrophic month of February which made them lose contact with the leader (four points out of twelve possible when Leverkusen took the maximum).
In this final sprint, Xabi Alonso's men thus have three jokers to seek a first German championship title, and put an end to eleven consecutive seasons of Bavarian hegemony over German football.
