Rammed after superstart: - Just crushed

Sports and Games Watts grades: Butcher, Kevin's executioner

When the Formula 1 field last summer visited Silverstone it ended in tears for the Haas team with a collision between Kevin Magnussen and Romain Grosjean on the first lap.

in the Midst of the team's great sporting crisis made the riders the unpardonable, prompting an earful of epic proportions from the team manager Günter Steiner; beautiful documented in the second season of the Netflix documentary ‘Drive to Survive’

the Circumstances were somewhat different this time.

Coronavikar Nico Hülkenbergs Racing Points never came to start due to engine problems, so from his starting position as the 14's with an empty space beside him was Kevin Magnussen, one of its classic good start.

He strokes already on the first meters past the Alexander Albons Red Bull and overtook ago Daniil Kvyats Alpha Tauri.

But it was not long before the dane was clipped from behind. Moving around in the turns 18 at the start-goal-bleachers tried Alexander Albon to overtake the lead. There was a marginal gap, after Magnussen had recently made a correction, but it closed very quickly.

Red Bull driver took the chance, which resulted in that he vædrede Haas car from behind and sent Kevin Magnussen through the sand pit and into the barrier.

- I don't know where I should go, tried Alexander Albon with over the radio.

The purchased the stewards did not and awarded him a five-second penalty for causing a collision.

In the order they write that the primary fault for the accident was Alexander Albons.

- Overtaking in the turns 18 are rare and difficult to execute. Although Albon seemed to be the faster car, decides Stewards that he tried overhalingen too late, and that the square on the inside of the car number 20 would always disappear. It seemed that he tried to back in the last second. Stewards took into consideration that Magnussen had a slower exit from the turn 17.

the Start was again good, but the race was quickly over for Kevin Magnussen, who together with the colleagues already about a week running at Silverstone again. Photo: Ben Stansall/Ritzau Scanpix

Kevin Magnussen was vexed, but would not point fingers at anyone.

I had not expected that he was there. I came a little bad through 17, but didn't think he would be on the side of me in the 18. An optimistic one, but I have not seen it, so I will not put the blame on him at all.

- It is not so much to say to it. It was an accident, and it happens in racing.

- Frustrating for I had again a good start. As I said to my engineers on the way to the grid, it felt like the car really good. Really practice.

- I'm just annoyed not to be there, because we maybe could have done something.

Daniil Kvyat was dropped a little later in a violent eneulykke, where the Russian lost control of his Alpha Tauri through Maggotts & Becketts.

It sent a safetycar on track followed by a classic pitstop-round.

Haas gamblede with Romain Grosjean and exchanged it free of charge stop for position on the track. They should use something extraordinary or a extra safetycar in order to score points. Even though he was up as a fiver, it was only a 16. space.

the Rest of the race was otherwise relatively undramatic, right until a totally crazy conclusion.

Lewis Hamilton won, but he crossed the finish line with a dotted racer.

Teamkammeraten Valtteri Bottas dotted a few laps before and the smoke from second place and out of the points. Shortly after something similar happened to mclaren's Carlos Sainz.

Max Verstappen was promoted to second place, but on the bizarre show could the dutchman have won the race, if not Red Bull had pittet him to score the extra points for fastest laps.

On the very last lap would be the rubber on Hamilton's left foredeck namely, not more, and he had to climb to the goal with Verstappen jagtende behind him.

Charles Leclerc was three with Ferrari colleague Sebastian Vettel down in tier.
