We talk and write a lot about loneliness in the christmas season. We have been able to publicly put words on it that can be difficult with christmas. It is very good, because it makes it less taboo and something that applies to all of us. But there are many days between new year and christmas, more than between christmas and new year.

For many will come the loneliness when the christmas lights go off and everyday life begins. What if we also use the christmas break to think about how we can be more present for those around us in 2019?

In the Ungdata survey for 2017 provided 14.9 per cent of the girls and 7.2 percent of boys in high school that they were very much bothered by the loneliness. It is the highest number Ungdata have registered. Almost 30 per cent of the girls in high school have depressive symptoms.

There are evil numbers to read. Young people should enjoy life, be with friends and have faith in the future. Instead, many lonely and worried. But the nice thing is that it is possible to do anything with, because the medicine against loneliness is something we have access to all of them: time our and the to be fellow human being.

It is said that it is lonely to be a human being. But we humans are born in the herd and die in the herd. We are completely dependent on being together, of being close to others. Or as Agnar Mykle writes; we are united in longing for the hands inside.

it is Perhaps the hands inside many of the lonely young missing. Hands that are not just press keys, but that takes your hand and says it's nice to see you. Or maybe it is the eyes, which see. That not only looks at the screen, or look away.

One thing is certain: We have a shared responsibility to ensure that young people do not sit alone and feel the evil of the desolation. It should all feel on the now know. And politicians have a particularly large responsibility.

The forgotten man Debate

It is not a political mission to force people to spend time together. But it is a political task to create the community in such a way that it becomes easy for us humans to be together. Because it is the time we have together, we appreciate the most price on. And should the policy be for people and not vice versa, we must respond to what is most important to people.

Some of the most important thing for us all is to be seen also in the days between new year and christmas. Merry christmas and happy new year.
