It endorses the UN declaration on migration

Denmark has Monday acceded to the UN declaration on migration at a conference in Marrakesh.

Danish Prime minister, Lars Løkke Rasmussen (V) was present when the declaration was approved by acclamation.

the UN declaration, which bears the name of Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration, contains 23 broad goals or statements of intent - on international cooperation on migration.

Examples of the objectives is to collect and use data that will be used to develop policy interventions, as well as to improve accessibility and flexibility in means of access to legal migration.

Also contains the statement of objectives to strengthen the international response to the smuggling of migrants and to reinforce international cooperation and global partnerships for the safe, orderly and legal migration.
