From Baryards horses to the new Stockholm hästfest

After a few years there she returned home to Sweden and began working for Malin Baryard Johnsson.

– the Idea was that I would be working at Malin a year, but I felt so good that it was almost eight years.

six years ago, she was ready to leave the life as a groom, but she did not want to leave the world of horses.

– In the role as a race director, I see what use I have of my past experiences. I know what happens behind the scenes, and what is important for horses, riders and grooms.

When the races come to Stockholm, the goal is to keep that feeling of glamour and exclusivity, but mix it up with a folk touch that goes under the term ”Horse Week”.

"For us it is important to put a Swedish stamp on the arrangement," says Sara Johansson.

" We know that, for example, that the interest in dressage is very big in Sweden, not least is the Mälardalen region an extremely strong dressyrfäste.

" We are well in phase, but it is clear that it is always a challenge to build a brand new contest.
