the Mine is Europe's largest copper mines and the quake occurred at two o'clock on Tuesday afternoon. Initially reported Polish media that 14 people were missing. Gruvdriftsbolaget KGHM announced later that it was nine, and after care have all been rescued except for one.
"A rescue operation is underway to locate the last miner in Rudna. Two people are in hospital," writes KGHM on Twitter.
32 people worked in the mine when the quake occurred. The deepest of its eleven shafts are 1.25 kilometres.
The european seismological institute EMSC measured the quake's magnitude at 4.8. The Polish etermediebolaget Polskie Radio reports that it received the buildings to shake in several surrounding towns.
